PEARLS OF SCOTLAND

Shipping Policy

Version 1.1 | Last updated: August 23, 2026

1. Scope

Pearls of Scotland offers international delivery where production and delivery services are available. Many products are produced on demand through fulfilment partners such as Gelato. Delivery therefore normally consists of production followed by shipping.

2. Order processing and production

After successful payment, your order is normally submitted for production. Once production has started, operational cancellation may no longer be possible. Any mandatory statutory cancellation or withdrawal rights remain unaffected.

3. Delivery estimates

Estimated production and delivery times shown on our website or at checkout are estimates and are not guaranteed delivery dates unless expressly stated otherwise. Actual timing may be affected by product type, production capacity, production location, destination, carrier, customs, weather, public holidays, strikes, transport disruption and other circumstances outside our reasonable control.

4. Shipping costs

Standard shipping is currently provided free of charge to destinations to which Pearls of Scotland actively offers delivery. The cost of standard shipping is incorporated into our retail pricing and no separate standard-shipping charge is added at checkout. If an optional premium or alternative shipping method is offered, any additional charge will be displayed at checkout before payment. Delivery availability may vary by destination, and Pearls of Scotland may add, remove or temporarily suspend delivery destinations.

5. Local and international fulfilment

Our fulfilment partner uses an international network of production locations and aims to produce orders close to the delivery destination where practical. Local production can reduce delivery distance and may avoid cross-border customs formalities. However, local production cannot be guaranteed for every product, order or destination because stock, production capacity and logistics can affect the production location.

6. Customs, duties, taxes and DDP

Where an order is produced locally or shipped under a Delivered Duty Paid (DDP) arrangement, the customer should not normally be asked to pay additional customs duties on delivery. Gelato currently states that economy shipments within the European Union, United Kingdom, United States, Canada, Australia/New Zealand and Singapore are delivered DDP. This does not mean that Pearls of Scotland currently offers delivery to every country or territory in those regions; available delivery destinations are those enabled in our store at the time of ordering.

For other international shipments, customs duties, import taxes, local VAT, brokerage or clearance fees may apply depending on the destination and the order. Where Pearls of Scotland collects applicable duties or taxes at checkout, they will be included or identified in the checkout total. Where such charges are not collected at checkout, the customer may be responsible for charges imposed by the destination country.

Because production routing and customs rules can change, the checkout information for a particular order takes precedence over general examples in this policy, subject to mandatory law.

7. Delivery address

Customers are responsible for providing a complete and accurate delivery address. If an order cannot be delivered because information supplied by the customer is incorrect or incomplete, additional shipping or replacement costs may apply, subject to mandatory consumer law.

8. Delayed shipments

If a shipment is significantly delayed, contact us so we can investigate with the relevant fulfilment or shipping provider. A shipment is not necessarily considered lost merely because an estimated delivery date has passed.

9. Lost shipments

If a shipment appears to have been lost in transit, please contact us promptly. Gelato currently asks merchants to report packages lost in transit within 30 days of the estimated delivery date. We may therefore ask you to notify us as soon as possible so that we can investigate and preserve any claim against the fulfilment provider. This 30-day operational reporting window does not reduce any mandatory statutory rights you may have against Pearls of Scotland.

10. Damaged shipments

If your order arrives damaged, please contact Pearls of Scotland before returning or disposing of the product. Please provide your order number, photographs of the product, photographs of the external and internal packaging where relevant, and a description of the damage.

Gelato currently asks that quality issues be reported within 30 days of receipt. We therefore encourage prompt reporting, but this operational timeframe does not shorten mandatory consumer rights.

11. Returned-to-sender shipments

A shipment may be returned to sender or otherwise become undeliverable where the address is incorrect or incomplete, delivery is refused, the shipment is unclaimed, or delivery otherwise fails. Where this results from customer-provided information or customer action, additional costs may apply, subject to mandatory law.
